I was a 3rd year Business Management student at university in Lithuania and I have found an ad in magazine which said something like this:

If you know one programming language, or another, or yet another programming language or if you know this or this or that technology and want to work in one of the most beautiful cities in Western Europe send your CV to this e-mail address or this fax number.

So I thought, what a heck, why not to try it - and I did it. I sent my CV to the guy who latter appeared to be a recruitment agent. About a week later I received an e-mail, that he will be in Lithuania some time later and he'd like to meet me.

So we met, talked about what I worked previously, what programs I have writen and stuff like that. Later he said that there is one slight problem - I didn't have any full-time work experience as a software developer. He also addded that I made a good impression on him and that he'll try to find me a job.

Several weeks later, I have received an e-mail from the agent, that one company is interested and the guy named Giles will phone me the next day at around 8 pm.

Next day I talked to Giles over the phone for about 30 minutes. He asked me several questions - mostly non-technical ones and I showed him a web dsite I have created and he also asked me what technologies I have used building that site. And baiscally that's it.

Next day I have received a job offer and question when can I move to Ireland.

Oh, and during the phone interview I was asked for the reasons why do I want to work in Ireland. The reasons were simple:
- to improve my English
- I like to travel
- I do not want to live with my parents (oh, I did not say that)
- and finally I want to earn some money
- and the reason I realised only 2 years later - I like freedom (Lithuania doesn't seem to be free enough for me)
